Prelude to Freedom Summer is a short film that tells the story of civil rights campaigns leading up to Freedom Summer in 1964. It is created with archival material from the Queens College Civil Rights Archives. The film is a component of educational programing I created at Queens College to to mark the 50th anniversary of Freedom Summer.
Below are an excerpt that was included in Society of Illustrators 57, and an animated promo for the commemorative events on campus. Motion design for both is by Jen Epstein.
