La Medea
2017
Directed by Yara Travieso
Role: Illustrator, Motion Graphics Artist, Mask-Maker
Awards / Honors: American Illustration 36, Lincoln Center Dance on Film Festival
I created the show poster, illustrated set pieces, masks, and graphics for La Medea, director Yara Travieso's musical re-imagining of Euripides’ violent tragedy into a dance-theater performance and feature film. Directed, performed, filmed, edited and streamed in real time, the dark comedy was performed as the closing night show of the 2017 PS 122 COIL Festival. The project was made possible with funding from Creative Capital, BRIC Arts, Dance Films Association, and PS 122.  More screenings and performances forthcoming. Below are illustrated images I created for the show, photos of the masks and stage set-up, and a video excerpt of the show.
